For the child who is ready to burst out of their shell

Creative Drama Classes 

For eight weeks, students ages pre-k to eighth grade in The Rose’s Creative Drama Classes capture and channel their most creative side as part of our creative drama courses. Join Judy Moody on a mad treasure hunt, lurk into the spooky unknowns with stories from Goosebumps, find your true home with Moana and much more. With seven choices in class themes for the fall session, students learn how to be bold and courageous while using their bodies, voices and imagination to step into characters, stories and new worlds.

 

For the child whose inner star shines bright

Acting and Production Classes

Students in The Rose’s year-long production classes enhance their on-stage performance skills as well as their knowledge of what goes on behind the curtain. These classes are designed for student performers with beginning to advanced acting levels, and provide a challenging curriculum that fosters continued skill development each year. Students who complete the fall and/or winter semesters may participate in the spring performance where students perform a 20-minute production at The Rose with lights, costumes and sound.

 

For the heartfelt storyteller

Playwright Classes

In The Rose’s playwriting courses, students in grades 7-12 learn the basics of playwriting, idea creation, playwriting format and constructive criticism. Students in the Young Playwrights class, have the opportunity to write a play for the Young Playwrights Festival. Youngers students can participate in Sketch Comedy: Writing & Acting, where students write their own sketches to be performed on stage. From profound insights to gut-busting giggles, these young Shakespeares create moments audiences will forever cherish.

 

For the child with a song in their heart and a spirit to match

Musical Theater Classes

Musical theater classes at The Rose is where singing, acting and dancing come together for one spectacular class time experience. Year-long classes are open to students ages 4-15 with their grand finale performance taking place on The Rose’s mainstage in May.

 

For the child who is ready to move and groove

Dance Classes

Dance classes at The Rose span a wide variety of styles and methods. From ballet to tap, jazz to hip hop, there are classes available for children as young as 2 to fulfill the wiggles, twirls and jumps in their hearts. Rose dance classes are for those just starting and for those who are mastering their skills. Dance classes run throughout the school year and culminate in the ultimate performance opportunity on The Rose mainstage, with glittering costumes, professional lighting and state-of-the-art sound highlighting the work of the student dancers.
