As a diverse group of kids gathers to create a community garden, they learn about one another’s abilities, challenges, and strengths. Guided by Sonia, they discover that each of them has a unique way of being in the world, and that those very differences are what make their friendships and their garden bloom.
Featuring multicultural songs in the spirit of Schoolhouse Rock and Sesame Street, this colorful musical will help you learn how to “just ask” about what makes each of us extraordinary!

Zhomontee is an Omaha native actress and award-winning performer based in Chicago. She is also a mental health therapist and the owner of Soul Stage Healing Arts, where she brings together her passion for healing and the arts. Recent credits include Eureka Day at Murphy Creek Theater and Rebel with a Cause, where she performed as a soloist with River City Mixed Chorus and the West Coast Singers of Los Angeles. Audiences may also recognize her as Effie White in Dreamgirls at Omaha Community Playhouse or as Marie/Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at The Rose Theater. Zhomontee is a 2017 OEAA Award winner for Best Actress in a Musical and a recipient of the Mary Peckham Award from Omaha Community Playhouse for Outstanding Performance in a Musical. She is deeply honored to return to The Rose stage and share the beautiful, meaningful story of Just Ask with you.

Ben Pearson is thrilled to be making his Rose debut with Just Ask! After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a B.A. in Theatre in 2019, he has been working steadily as an actor and educator in Omaha. Some of his favorite roles include Ben Tiller in More of a Heart (Bluebarn), Luke Skywalker in A Renew’d Optimism (Old School Shakespeare Omaha), and Oliver Costello in Spider’s Web (Bellevue Little Theatre). He is also a member of the Kids on the Block puppet troupe, a WhyArts program that helps to spread disability awareness to elementary school students. He would like to thank his friends and family and hopes that you find this story as inspiring as he does!

The Rose is all-inclusive and meets every kiddo at their level. Sometimes big trips to a new place can cause some fear and anxiety, but the sensory friendly experience really allowed our kids to enjoy it in their own unique and authentic experience.
