The Rose Theater classes offer students the ability to unleash their creativity, develop life skills and gain a deep appreciation for the performing arts. In a supportive and encouraging environment under the guidance of professionally trained educators, your child will build a solid foundation of performance skills that amplify their confidence and talents.
Summer camps at The Rose ensure that theater education doesn’t end with the school year. We offer classes and camps across your students’ summer break to give them hands-on learning and an immersive experience they’ll never forget.

This 3-Week Intensive Musical camp is designed to provide challenging and engaging theater experiences for our advanced students that result in show-stopping performances. Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme… You better get me to school on time! Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock: Young Actors Edition is a dynamic, one-hour version of the musical based on the hit movie, designed especially for young performers. The tuner follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. Young Art pulled the mighty sword Excalibur from the stone, proving that they are the true ruler of Camelot! Only one problem … Excalibur has gone missing the day before Art’s coronation, so Art and their friends set off on a wild adventure of wizards, fairies, and dragons to find the missing sword and learn the true meaning of what it means to be a leader! Come act in original short plays, by teens and for teens! The Young Playwrights Festival showcases the work of some of the best teenage writers in the Omaha area. Most of the scripts featured in this production are created as part of The Rose’s yearlong Young Playwrights class, which is led by The Rose’s award-winning Playwright-in-Residence, Brian Guehring. Written entirely by teens, the works are filled with comedy, tragedy, hopes, fears, romance, and all-out fun. Students are guided through the process of writing their own plays. In the fall, learn the basics of playwriting : idea creation, format, structure and constructive criticism. In the winter/spring students are supported as they begin to write their own play and are encouraged to submit their scenes/plays for production in our Young Playwrights Festival.
