The Rose Theater classes offer students the ability to unleash their creativity, develop life skills and gain a deep appreciation for the performing arts. In a supportive and encouraging environment under the guidance of professionally trained educators, your child will build a solid foundation of performance skills that amplify their confidence and talents.
Summer camps at The Rose ensure that theater education doesn’t end with the school year. We offer classes and camps across your students’ summer break to give them hands-on learning and an immersive experience they’ll never forget.

This class is specifically tailored for our students who want to dive deeper into Ballet technique with an emphasis on jumps, turns, leaps, and performance roles traditionally performed by men. A Jazz Technique class for the musical theater student. In the first semester of this class, students focus on learning contemporary techniques and different movement styles, while in the second semester, students work towards a piece they perform for the year-end Spring Dance Concert at the Rose Theater Downtown. Pride Players educates, entertains and inspires activism in our audiences of teens, parents, teachers and community members. The group uses improvisation to create songs, poetry, monologues, and skits that explore what it means to be a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer or ally teen in Omaha. The group has been honored by many groups including The National Education Association, Heartland Pride, and American Alliance for Theater and Education. Come act in original short plays, by teens and for teens! The Young Playwrights Festival showcases the work of some of the best teenage writers in the Omaha area. Most of the scripts featured in this production are created as part of The Rose’s yearlong Young Playwrights class, which is led by The Rose’s award-winning Playwright-in-Residence, Brian Guehring. Written entirely by teens, the works are filled with comedy, tragedy, hopes, fears, romance, and all-out fun.
