About The Show!
“Romeo and Juliet,” a tragedy by William Shakespeare, tells the story of two warring households, both alike in dignity – from which two young lovers embark on a forbidden romance. At a masquerade ball, the young lovesick Romeo Montague falls in love with Juliet Capulet, who is engaged to a royal, Paris. With the help of Juliet’s nurse, the couple arranges to marry the following day, but the age-old vendetta between two powerful families erupts into bloodshed; Romeo’s attempt to halt a street fight leads to the death of Juliet’s cousin, Tybalt, for which Romeo is banished.
In a desperate attempt to be reunited with Romeo and run away together, Juliet fakes her own death. The message fails to reach Romeo, and believing Juliet dead, he takes his life in her tomb. Juliet wakes to find Romeo’s corpse beside her and takes her own life. Six actors will bring to life Shakespeare’s most famous romantic tragedy in a high-velocity performance.
