Community
The Rose Theater has been an engaged member of the Omaha metro community since 1949. We work alongside community organizations, neighborhood associations and schools to ensure that all children, regardless of race, gender, abilities, have access to the performing arts. We have an array of options to offer in our theater and can also craft programs to meet community needs. Past experience in theater is not required! All ages are encouraged to explore these opportunities to participate, learn and grow with The Rose Theater.
CommUNITY Connections
CommUNITY Connections, our outreach program, makes theater activities available to Omaha-area children and families who have not traditionally had access to the theater arts. Thanks to our generous supporters, CommUNITY Connections programming is offered free or at reduced rates to organizations and individual participants.
Teen Programming
The Rose Theater’s innovative Teens ‘N’ Theater program provides teens ages 13 to 18 opportunities to get active in the world of theater. The Rose produces five teens-only shows each season, where teen participants act, direct, write, design and stage-manage. Teens ‘N’ Theater is open and free to high school students.
Events
The Rose is a vital part of the Omaha community. The theater hosts and participates events throughout the year at a variety of locations in the area. The Rose hosts RoseFest at Heartland Park to showcase main stage productions and education classes and camps. We also participate in community events such as Gifford Park Friday Nights and other community events. Come see us at RoseFest and invite us to your event!
Financial Assistance
To ensure that the performing arts are accessible to all, The Rose Theater offers full and partial scholarships to qualifying students for programs including Rose classes and camps. Scholarships are granted on a case-by-case basis to families who demonstrate a strong financial need and would otherwise be unable to participate.
