It’s that time of year again when we are looking for talented actors to delight and entertain our wonderful audiences here at The Rose! Here is all the information you need to be a part of our 2017-18 season!
Adult Auditions
The Rose Theater will host an audition for all adult roles in its 2017-2018 productions by appointment on Sunday, April 23 beginning at 6PM with callbacks for its first two productions, Babe The Sheep Pig and Madagascar, on Tuesday, April 25 at 6PM. Madagascar is a musical and actors interested in this production should come prepared to share a selection of a song of their choice.
Adult actors of all types are welcome to audition and must come to The Rose Theater, 2001 Farnam Street. Performers can perform a prepared monologue or conduct cold readings from next season’s scripts. Singers should be ready to perform at least 16 bars of a song. An accompanist will be provided.
Adult actors are being given an opportunity to skip future open calls for each show in the 2017-2018 season if they audition on April 23. The Rose will then callback actors based on availability and appropriateness for specific productions. Most productions involve daytime rehearsals, but at least three do not, including Madagascar.
Preliminary rehearsal schedules for all productions will be available at the season auditions. This is a paid position for adult actors. Minority actors are needed for lead roles. Roles are available for adult actors of all ages and genders at this time. Youth auditions will be held on a show by show basis at later dates.
Babe The Sheep Pig will have daytime rehearsals August 14- September 8 and daytime/weekend performances September 8- September 24, 2017. Madagascar will have evening and weekend rehearsals September 12-October 6 and daytime/weekend performances October 6-22, 2017.

Youth Auditions
The Rose Theater will host an audition for all youth roles in its 2017-2018 production of Madagascar by appointment beginning at 6PM on Monday, April 24 with callbacks on Wednesday, April 26 at 6PM.
Youth actors of all types ages 8-18 are welcome to audition and must come to The Rose Theater 2001 Farnam Street, Omaha, NE 68102. Performers should be ready to perform at least 16 bars of a song. An accompanist will be provided. A short dance audition will also be conducted.
Madagascar will have evening and weekend rehearsals September 12-October 6 and daytime/weekend performances October 6-22, 2017.
