Mutual of Omaha's Wild About Omaha Weekend The Rose Theater will offer a wide variety of free activities from 5 to 9 pm on Friday, July 24th, in conjunction with Mutual of Omaha's Wild About Omaha Weekend 20th Street Family Zone. Costume dress-up, karaoke, mini classes and face painting will be offered inside. A roaming balloon artist will entertain kids and there will be free cake for everyone who attends. Matt Geiler Live! Omaha native Matt Geiler appears at The Rose for an evening of off-the-cuff music and laughs in this fully-improvised, free-form stream-of-consciousness comedy concert that features his singular characters, wild dance moves, and peerless musical improv! You’ve never laughed so hard at stuff somebody just made up!
Matt literally hits the stage with no idea what will happen, as he builds each set from audience suggestions and lets his slightly warped mind take it from there! So, go ahead ... Feel free to shout something out. Matt will turn it into a song, a character, or some other socially awkward on-stage happening!
Matt’s appeared at some of America’s coolest comedy venues including The Comedy Store in LA, Donny’s Skybox at The Second City in Chicago, Orlando’s SAK Comedy Lab, and Ha! Comedy Club in Times Square, New York. Omaha audiences will remember Matt as host of the alt-absurdist 10:00 News on KXVO, and the late-night musical sketch comedy show MIXTAPE, where his antics earned him the 2006 Omaha Entertainment Award for Best Comedian. Matt also stars in the upcoming feature film Splatter! Slated for release later this year.
