Every Single Child

The Every Single Child program (known as ESC) developed gradually over several years as The Rose established greater involvement in the Omaha-area schools.  The Rose currently works with more than 70 schools each year and provides a complete and comprehensive arts education program for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

In addition to the shows and residencies featured in the Every Single Child brochure, The Rose will also offer the following:

American Indian Legends and Culture – New!
This three-day residency for fifth graders was developed in response to teacher requests for a history curriculum tie in for first semester.  It is available throughout the year and is presented at your school in the individual classrooms.  For 50 minutes each day, students will use the basic acting tools of body, voice and imagination to deepen their understanding of Native American culture.  One tribe will be selected based upon research and teacher survey, and the students will use pantomime, characterization, statue and scene work to enact the tribe’s stories, legends and daily life.  The goal is to create a safe environment for the students to learn, take risks, and express themselves while enriching their current curriculum learning in social studies and literature.
